Brigadier General Muncy will be keynote speaker at CORONA Chamber’s Quarterly Membership Meeting – where the organization and business community will honor and salute military personnel – all part of Armed Forces Day celebration. Slated for Friday, May 20 at the Circle City Center, 365 N Main St., Corona CA 92879, the luncheon and 2-hour program will begin at 11:30am. The Chamber is seeking all Veterans, Reservists and Active Duty personnel to register on line at CORONAchamber.Org as they will be the guests of the 105 year old organization and the business community. The chamber asks that registration be completed by May 2 to ensure all arrangements are coordinated. Through the generosity of the business community, and individuals who purchase tables and tickets, all veterans will be guests at this luncheon. “This tradition was started many years ago, and truly, we should be treating our American Heroes to free meals daily,” stated Dean Seif, Chairman of the Legislative Action Committee for the CORONA Chamber. Individual tickets are $55 which also helps to underwrite partial costs to put on this event. About our speaker Brigadier General Russell A. Muncy is commander, 452nd Air Mobility Wing, Air Force Reserve Command, March Air Reserve Base. As commander of the Air Force Reserve’s largest wing with over 4,000 personnel, 9 C-17As and 14 KC-135Rs, he directs the support of worldwide airlift and air refueling operations. General Muncy is also responsible for the daily operations of March ARB, which supports active duty, National Guard and Reserve tenants from the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines as well as Department of Homeland Security personnel with the Air Marine Operations Center. General Muncy was commissioned from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1983 and served on active duty as a KC- 135A/R pilot and squadron flying safety officer before leaving the service in December 1990. He reentered the service with the Air Force Reserve in 1995 serving as a pilot, flying safety officer, operations plans officer, chief pilot, director of operations, group commander, vice wing commander and wing commander since that time. General Muncy served at the Major Command level as the AFRC headquarters tanker operations officer at Robins (GA) Air Force Base, where he orchestrated AFRC’s tanker operations in response to the events of Sept. 11, 2001. He has deployed numerous times in support of Operations Desert Shield, Joint Forge, Deliberate Guard, Northern Watch and Enduring Freedom and deployed in a joint role for operations Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn. He became a Level II Joint Qualified Officer in 2013. Annually, the CORONA Chamber hosts a full program honoring our military – throughout the program, each branch of service will be acknowledged.
